Obituary of Homer Saenz

Funeral services for Homer Saenz Sr., 66, of Lovington NM will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 at 10:00 am at Church of the Living Waters with Pastor Jr. Contreras officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Our precious loving Homer was born on August 19, 1956 in La Villa, Texas to Saturnino and Angela Saenz and passed away on June 19, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his lovely family. Homer was a hard worker and took pride in everything he did. He worked for BLM as a Petroleum Engineering Technician for most of his life. He loved his entire family unconditionally. His pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. Homer had a lively sense of humor and loving spirit. He joked constantly and made everybody laugh. He was a great provider to his children and those around him. He was the type of man who would give anything to help others in need. He was passionate about country music and loved to dance. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, camper, and fisherman. Above all, Homer gave his life to Jesus "Compa" and made a friend in heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents: Saturnino and Angela Saenz; one son: Homer Saenz Jr.; one brother: Ruben Saenz and one sister: Irma Valderaz. Surviving him is his son: Ernest Saenz of Rio Rancho; one daughter: Priscilla and husband Tony Torres of Silver Spring, Maryland; five grandchildren: MiLinda Bella, Aceton, Aziah, Luke and Ellie; mother of his children: Hilda Saenz of Rio Rancho: five brothers: Johnny Saenz and wife Patty of Gillette, WY, Jesse Saenz of Lovington, NM, Joe Saenz and wife Nancy of Lovington, NM, Arturo Rodriguez and wife Crystal of Carlsbad, NM, and Freddy Flores of Hobbs, NM.; eight sisters: Mary Rodriguez of Hobbs, NM, Beatrice and husband Lynn Noteboom of Buffalo, WY, Nellie and husband Ralph England of Portales, NM, Elda Saenz of Hobbs, NM, Merced Marcellina Champion of Reynosa, Mexico, Tina Flores, Yolanda Flores, and Beatrice Flores.
