Obituary of Edna Earl Robinson

Edna Earl Hubbard Robinson ("Sandy") passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was pre-deceased by her husband: Earnest ("Ernie) P. Robinson, who passed away on December 9, 2015. Sandy and Ernie married on November 27, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Monument, New Mexico.
Sandy is survived by her son: Gary Robinson and his wife Karla Robinson from Lovington, New Mexico; her daughter Dena D. Robinson (and her husband Esteban A. Aguilar, Sr. Esq.) from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She also is survived by many of her nieces and nephews including Randy Duncan and his spouse Pam from Salisbury, North Carolina, Suzy Dyer and her husband Jerry from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Cynthia Richards and her partner Jennifer Muller from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Keith Harper and his wife Dr. Teresa Harper from Ft. Collins, Colorado, Carolyn Jenkins from Manitou Springs, Colorado, Billy Cooper and his wife Jarrell from Gun Barrel, Texas, Donna McElyea from Tomball, Texas, David Harper from Hobbs, New Mexico, Ray Wylie Hubbard and his wife Judy from Wimberly, Texas, Kay Bradley from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Becky Boerner and her husband Richard from Mabank, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Annie Hubbard; four brothers and two sisters.
Sandy was graduated from University of Oklahoma in 1950 and received her Master's in Education in 1954. She was raised in Oklahoma. After graduation, she moved to Monument, New Mexico where she taught school for many years. After she and Ernie married, they lived in Texas, Utah and New Mexico. She and Ernie were long time members of Jackson Avenue Baptist Church in Lovington, New Mexico.
To most in Lovington she was known as "Miss Sandy." She and Ernie purchased the Pioneer Steak House in 1973. They worked side by side at the steakhouse for many years until they sold the Pioneer Steak House to Johnny and Terry Blackwood.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery with Brother Dave Rowser and Cynthia Richards officiating.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
