Funeral services for Celia Olivas Montez, 84, of Midland, Texas formally of Lovington, New Mexico will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Oliver Ukwaeze officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Celia was born on November 22, 1940 in San Antonio de Bravo, Mexico to Concepcion and Maria de Jesus (Cabezuela) Montez and passed away on February 1, 2025. Celia liked traveling with her sisters and family. She liked playing bingo, cleaning and cooking and was a good cook. Celia enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Concepcion and Maria de Jesus Montez and one brother: Isidro Montez Sr.

She is survived by her husband: Ignacio Olivas Sr.; two sons: Jorge Olivas and wife Sonia and Ignacio Olivas Jr. and wife Danielle; four daughters: Veronica Madrid, Ramona and husband Robert Lopez, Corina and husband Margarito Mendoza, and Yesenia Salgado; two brothers: Emilio Montez, and Ventura Montez and wife Maria Luisa; four sisters: Margarita and husband Raul Canul, Frances and husband Daniel Moreno, Hilda and husband Manuel Hernandez, and Delma and husband Joe Sanchez; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm until after Rosary. Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
