Funeral services for David Leon Sherrell, 72, of Lovington will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Don Ragland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. David was born on January 9, 1953 in Emond, Oklahoma to Troy Leondias and Mary Pauline (Sager) Sherrell and passed away on February 18, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. David married Amelia Arredondo on January 8, 1977 in Ozona, Texas they were married 48 years. He liked to go fishing and hunting. David enjoyed playing poker with his friends. He loved his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and four grandchildren: Arya Sherrell, Jasper Sherrell, Faith Sherrell, and Jameson Sherrell.
He is survived by his wife: Amelia Sherrell; one son: Theron Sherrell; one daughter: Amy Herman and husband Donald; one brother: Paul Micheal Sherrell; and five grandchildren: Trey Herman, Austin Stringfield, Ceanna Stringfield, Malikye Sherrell and Adleigh Perser.
