Donald Wayne Mullins, Sr. beloved husband, Pa, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and Great Great Grandpa, a longtime resident of Tatum, NM was born on August 12, 1940 to Ben J. and Martha Mullins in Matador, Texas. He passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024 at his home in Tatum.

Don married Mary Ann Wilson on June 13, 1972 and together they raised 8 children; David, Donna Jean, Danny, Donna Ann, Jay, Don Don, Karen and Darrell.

Don spent most of his career in the oilfield, overseas, and then retired from The State of New Mexico Highway Department in 2012. When he was home from work, he was an Avid Little League Supporter. He was the Mayor of Tatum from 2006 to 2010. He served in Vietnam while he was in the Army. He was as an Army Ranger and graduated the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell Kentucky June 5th, 1958. He served as a Volunteer on the Tatum Volunteer Fire Department many many years ago. He was loved by all that new him and strongly supported his family in all of their endeavors.

Don is proceeded in death by his son David, his son Don Don, his parents, his brother Bennie, and 3 sisters Barbara, Glenda and Kathy.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Peggy Mullins of Morgantown, West Virginia; his daughter and son-in-law Donna Jeanne and Keven Bentley of Whiteface, Texas, his son and daughter-in-law Danny Wayne and Sonya Mullins of Tatum, New Mexico; his daughter and son-in-law Donna Ann and Richie Wood of Tatum, New Mexico; his son Jay Mullins of Dennard, Arkansas; his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Dale Wilson of Brownfield, Texas and his son and daughter-in-law Darrell and Christie Mullins of Tatum, New Mexico, 18 grand kids, 20 great grand kids and 5 great great grandchildren.

There will be a Memorial gathering at his home in Tatum on Sunday, March 16th from Noonish til 4:00pm. All are welcome to come and go as you celebrate his life with us.
