Jeanette Ruth Collins was born to T.C. and Verdell Farris on March 23, 1938, in Tokio, Texas. She was raised in Brownfield, Texas and Tatum, New Mexico. Jeanette was called home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2025. She married Reubin Collins Sr. on September 20, 1956 until he passed on May 27, 2004. They had four children Tamara Behrens (Gregg), Reubin Collins Jr. (Loretta), Teresa Matthews (Jeff), and Craig Collins (Melissa).

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister: Laverne Holloway and son-in-law: Gregg Behrens.

She is survived by one sister: June Holloway; children: Tamara, Reubin, Teresa, Craig, Loretta, Melissa, and Jeff; grandchildren: Skylorie (Tim), Chelsea (Dusty), Bryant, Colton (Destini), Connagher (Tamara) and Freddie; and her great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Braxtyn, Sutherlynn, and Hatlee.

Jeanette was a homemaker, wife, mom, grandma, and granny. As a teenager, she was a telephone operator for Leaco Telephone in the Tatum office and worked at her parents' laundromat. She worked at Tatum Variety Store, and Allsup's before going to work for Tatum Schools. She was co-owner of Collins Pumping Service until 2004. Her family was always her main priority. She was always very involved with school and sports activities and was a little dribbler's coach for several years.

Jeanette always said she was a Rabid Tatum Coyote and Dallas Cowboy fan! Holidays and family get togethers were her favorite times and were always special and wonderful.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 am at Tatum Cemetery.
