Marvin "Ray" Copeland, 79, of Lovington, New Mexico and Passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2025. Ray was born on April 18, 1946, In Poplar, Missouri to Louis "Buster" and Clita Ruth Copeland. Ray's family relocated to New Mexico and he graduated from Lovington High School in 1964. He became a father when his daughter Amy was born in 1970 and he had a son, Danny in 1974. Ray worked for D&L Meters in Lovington for 38 Years. He developed strong working relationships and many friendships throughout his time there. He loved golfing, fishing, and playing pool. He also loved spending time with his golf buddies. Ray will be greatly missed by his family, his many friends and his fellow golfers.
Preceding Ray in death were his parents and also his stepmother: Nell; two brothers and two sisters, Paul Copeland, Bud Copeland, Emma Ruth "Jo" Bailon and Edith Lowry; and also his beautiful daughter, Amy.
He is survived by his brother: Charles and wife Nadine of Las Cruces; grandson: Zac Knox and his children: Phoenix and Hendrix of Odessa; son: Danny of Texas and his children
Preslye Lacy, Kelsye Huffman, Daniel Copeland, Justin White, and Kaylee White.
A private service will be held and burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
