Funeral services for Ramon Garcia Turrubiates, 84, of Lovington will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Ramon was born on February 14, 1941 in Nuevo Morelos, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Jose and Vicenta (Garcia) Turrubiates and passed away on August 26, 2025. Ramon married Consuelo Ontiveros on September 1, 1978 in Lovington. He worked for Runnels Mud Company for 11 years and for Sun West Mud Company for 23 years he was a Warehouse Manager. Ramon liked dancing, planting a garden, and enjoyed raising cattle and pigs. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Ramon liked having parties with his compadres and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose and Vicenta Turrubiates; one son: David Turrubiates; one sister: Enedina Galvan; and three brothers: Genaro, Rudy, and Angel.
He is survived by his wife Connie Turrubiates of 46 years; four sons: Ramon Turrubiates Jr., Rodney Turrubiates and wife Mary, Oscar Ontiveros and wife Cathy, and Benito Ontiveros; four daughters: Elma and husband Marc Lowrie, Nancy Turrubiates, Sylvia Gonzales, and Vanessa and husband Jesus Gonzalez; three sisters: Stella and husband Vicente Baldarez, Alicia and husband Frank De La Huerta, and Irene and husband Oscar Garza, 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and had many friends and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025 from 2:00 pm until after Rosary. Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
