Lola Vivian (Youngblood) Rice Obituary

Lola Vivian (Youngblood) Rice passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, in Missouri City, Texas, at the age of 90. Vivian was born on October 19, 1934, in Magic City, Texas, the sixth of eight children to Homer and Lola (Light) Youngblood. She was a woman of many talents and interests, with a


special love for cooking and baking cakes. Vivian was also an avid painter and photographer and loved to work in her garden. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She cherished watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their sporting events and accomplishments. Vivian was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Denver City, Texas. Vivian is survived by her four children: - Jimmie Leon Rice of Lovington, New Mexico


- Ronald Keith Rice and wife Shannon of Surfside Beach, Texas


- Debra Jane (Rice) North and husband Kelly of Missouri City, Texas


- Tonya Gail (Rice) Falkenbury and husband Eric of Pflugerville, Texas


She leaves behind seven grandchildren: Kyla and husband Weldon Lovejoy, Jason Rice and wife Stephanie, Travis Rice and wife Brandy, Lauren Ashley North Beebe, Madison Rae Rice and fiancé Daryan Gonzalez, Zachery Ryan Falkenbury and wife Sim, and Ian Falkenbury. Vivian was blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Kolby Allphin and wife Ravyn, Ashly Jane Rice, Jabin Ray Rice and wife Kenna, Korbin Joel Rice, Sydni Jade Rice, Ashlyn Rose Cassel, and Jovi Elizabeth Beebe. She also welcomed two great-great-grandchildren: Riverlyn and Dakota Allphin.


She is also survived by her sister Serena Carpenter; sister-in-law Peg (Rice) Kenyon and husband Darrel; brother-in-law Ron Rice and wife Jerri; and many nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Sheriff Jimmie B. Rice; her daughter, Sonya Gay Rice; her grandson, Zachery Allyn North; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.


Vivian's legacy is one of love, faith, and family devotion. She will be deeply missed by all. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Reed officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home in Lovington, NM.
