Jesse "Sonny" Navarrette, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 26, 2025, at the age of 78, while surrounded by his family at his home in Lovington, NM. Visitation with family will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home in Lovington, NM. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 31, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Deacon Ed Fierro officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery at 600 E Gum Avenue, Lovington, NM.

Jesse was born on October 5, 1947, in Artesia, NM to Jesus and Manuela Navarrette. He grew up in Lovington and attended Lovington High School where he met Ninfa Reyes his lifelong love and dedicated wife and then they married on April 26, 1966 they shared 59 years. He retired from Texaco/Chevron after 42 years and enjoyed woodworking, his John Deere Tractor and being with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Jesse is survived by his wife: Ninfa Navarrette; two brothers: Adan and Raphael Navarrette; two sisters: Maria Gomez and Sylvia Gutierrez. He is also survived by his 4 children: Ismael Navarrette (Maria) of Midland, TX, Kenny Navarrette (Jill) of Melissa, TX, Veronica Navarrette of Lovington, NM and David Navarrette and partner Jason Cartwright of Berthoud, CO; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and expecting the 10th.
