Funeral services for Margarita Montez Canul, 80, of Lovington will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 am at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Sanchez Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Margarita was born on April 30, 1945 in San Antonio de Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico to Conception and Maria de Jesus (Cabezuela) Montez and passed away on November 5, 2025. Margarita married Raul Canul Jr. on September 23, 1971 in Lovington, New Mexico they were married 54 years. She was a hard worker; she loved to cook and clean. Margarita was an avid Lovington Wildcat fan she enjoyed going to watch them play.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Isidro Montez; and one sister: Celia Olivas.

She is survived by her husband: Raul Canul Jr.; two sons: Tommy Canul and Roberto Canul and wife Franchesca; two daughters: Oralia Baeza and Leonel Silva and Toni and husband Sergio Iglesias; two brothers: Ventura Montez Sr. and Emilio Montez; three sisters: Frances Moreno, Hilda Hernadez, and Delma Sanchez, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
