Sharon Ann (Szaloy) Franks, 75, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on November 27, 2025. Sharon was born on November 21, 1950 to A.J and LaRose Szaloy. She was raised on a farm in Texline, Texas and graduated from Texline High School in 1969. Following graduation she chose to become an accountant. She worked for several employers through the years, including Pro-Cuts for whom she worked for over twenty years. Sharon is remembered as someone who loved horses and gardens. She would take her harvests from the garden and turn them into delicious meals. She was known to be an excellent cook, but cooking was not her only gift. She was able to turn well-used furniture into beautiful and usable pieces which she sold from her shop. Sharon especially treasured her roles as wife and mother. She attended the Bellaire Baptist Church.

Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Franks; her parents: A.J and LaRose Szaloy; and her brother: Larry Szaloy.

She is survived by her son: Jimmy Franks and wife Sandy of Andrews, Texas; daughter: Joli Franks of Hobbs, New Mexico; brother: Gary Szaloy and wife Peggy of Lubbock, Texas; sister-in-law: Judy Franks of Levelland, Texas, sister-in-law: Jacquittia Fosnaugh and husband Tom of Hot Springs Village, AR and Jo Ellen Fowlkes and husband Chet of Lubbock, Texas; brother-in-law: Joel Franks and wife Karen of Granbury, Texas; brother-in-law: Jerry Franks and wife Cindy of Midland Greenwood, Texas; She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Services for Sharon Franks will be held at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Lovington, New Mexico on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
