Marsha Aline Skinner Obituary

Marsha A. Skinner was born on October 16, 1952, in Edmond, Oklahoma to Roger S. and Willie Mae Sanders. She entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 73. Marsha was the 5th of 7 siblings, and each of them shared a close and special bond.

Marsha married the love of her life, Gary Skinner, on December 11, 1971, in Hobbs, New Mexico. This month, they would have celebrated 54 wonderful years together. Their marriage was blessed with 2 children, Denise Whitman and Jeremy Skinner.

She had a heart for the elderly and spent many years serving as the activity director at the Lovington Good Samaritan. One of her greatest joys came later in life when she retired to help care for her grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Her final years were filled with the happiness of watching her great-grandchildren.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents: Roger S. and Willie Mae Sanders; and four brothers: Roger S. Sanders, Michael Lynn Sanders, Stanley Sanders, and Gary Sanders.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 54 years, Gary Skinner; her daughter and son-in-law: Denise & Chris Whitman; her son and daughter-in-law Jeremy & Michelle Skinner; her grandchildren: Raegan & Justin Bromley, Kylea Skinner, Lexy Skinner, Dace Skinner & Annie, and Gracen Whitman along with her beloved daughter-in-law's children and grandchildren. Also surviving her are her two sisters: Shirley and husband Virgil Owen of Corona, NM and Susie and husband Raymon Payne of Farmington, NM. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly: Rayce & Jett Bromley and Genesis Lynn. Her beloved dog, Kupcake, will miss snuggling on her lap under a soft, cozy blanket. Special friends left to cherish her memory are Wanda and Travis Gunn, Gayla Neagle, Teresa Hillard, and Pat Rice.

A celebration of her life will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 220 W. Ave. I in Lovington, on Friday, December 12th at 2:00 pm with Bro. Chad Wease officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hillcrest Christian Academy, 220 W. Ave. I in Lovington.

Marsha's name was written in the Book of Life when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in December of 1971. We rejoice in knowing that we will see her again one glorious day.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
