Funeral services for Refugio Cardona, 42, of Lovington will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Samuel Ameh officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Refugio was born on July 3, 1983 in Hobbs to Refugio Cardona Sr. and Mary Lou (Pando) Cardona and went home on December 14, 2025. Refugio worked for Conoco for over 17 years. He was a devoted loving husband, father, brother and friend. Refugio loved going to church with his family. His favorite passion was baseball with the Atlanta Braves being his all time favorite.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Mary Lou Cardona.

He is survived by his wife: Heather; daughter: Evanie; son: Mallex; father: Refugio Sr. and wife; brother: Edward; sister: Rosa and Krystal and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 1:00 pm until after Rosary. Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
