Funeral services for Jesse Ernest Carlisle, 70, of Lovington will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home with David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Ernest was born on August 21, 1955 in Andrews, Texas to James Terrell and Lois Pauline (Brigance) Carlisle and passed away on December 25, 2025. Ernest moved here in 1958. He grew up in Lovington went to Lovington High School until 10th grade and then moved to Kemp, Texas where he graduated. Ernest married Minnie Sue Henderson on April 11, 1994 in Andrews, Texas. He liked going traveling with his wife they went to Canada, Galveston Bay, Georgia, and the Grand Canyon. Ernest also liked go hiking.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Lois Carlisle; and two sisters: Patty McPherson and Nelda Turner.

He is survived by his wife: Sue Carlisle of 31 years; two step-sons: Timmy Foster and Fletcher Foster; one step-daughter: Star and husband Kent Gibson and two step-grandchildren: Zion Gibson and Zyra Gibson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 10:00 until service time.
