Isiah Miller was born on March 7, 1992, in Levelland, Texas, to Ann Margaret "Maggie" Coronado and Anthony Miller. He passed away on January 3, 2025, in Lovington, New Mexico. Isiah grew up surrounded by family. Though a cousin by birth, he was raised closely alongside us, woven into our home and our lives in a way that made him feel more like a brother than anything else. We shared childhood memories, family gatherings, and the kind of bond that isn't easily explained—but deeply felt.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful mother: Maggie; his brother: Elijah "Kookie" Miller; his Maternal Grandparents, Pete Coronado Sr. and Mary Olga Garza.
Some may notice that his name, Isiah, appears to be misspelled. It isn't. His mother accidentally left out an "a" when completing his birth certificate—and in a way, that small difference suited him. Isiah was never meant to blend in or be easily categorized. Even his name carried its own story. Life was not kind to Isiah. He experienced loss early, instability often, and challenges that few are equipped to carry alone. Periods of being unhoused, struggles with mental illness, and addiction shaped much of his adult life. He didn't always make the best choices, and he never tried to meet the world's expectations simply to satisfy them. But he loved deeply. He felt intensely. And he did the best he could with the tools he had. To some, Isiah may have looked like a problem society couldn't solve—another number, another burden, another story people look past. To us, he was family. He was once a little boy learning to read in kindergarten. A child longing to be seen & heard with his actions.
A young man searching for his place in a world that often felt closed to him.
And too often, that world turned away. Our family made countless attempts to help Isiah find safety, stability, and healing. We walked alongside him through systems that promised help but rarely delivered lasting care. This obituary is not evidence of failure. It is evidence of how broken those systems can be—and how much more compassion is needed. Isiah is survived by his father: Anthony Miller; his brother: Andre Miller and Andre's children—Azarrien Zaiden Miller and Zailianna Rose Miller;
Now, Isiah is free. Free from trauma. Free from the weight of being unhoused.
Free from addiction and affliction. Free from the labels placed on him by a world that didn't know how to hold him. Let his story challenge us. When you see someone on the corner of the street, remember they are someone's child. Someone's family. Someone who was once full of hope and possibility. See past the surface. Choose compassion. Care more.
Thank you to those who have given toward Isiah's cremation and burial services, ensuring he is honored with dignity and love. Your generosity means more than words can express.
