Funeral services for Arthur Houston Martin Jr., 85, of Lovington will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at The Rock Church with Pastor Shane Brixner officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arthur was born on June 13, 1940 in Coolie, Tx. to Arthur Sr. and Josephine Martin and passed away on January 8, 2026. Arthur married Carrie Sims on June 22, 2008 in Lovington, New Mexico they were married 17 years. He was a Deacon for The Church International Word of Faith. Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He like working on cars and houses, he also liked music, traveling, and going fishing with his wife and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Houston Martin Sr. and Josephin; one daughter: Janet; and one step-son: Bobby Fields Jr.

He is survived by his wife: Carrie Martin; two sons: Ardell Martin and Stevie Martin; two step-sons: Osie Fields and Ron Garner; three step-daughters: Yvetta Bell, Pamela White, and Angie Gardner; one step-brother: William Greenway; one sister: Mary Valdez and husband Sy; and one special grandson: Luke Ortega he also had numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
