Memorial services for Shannie Rae Long, 48, of Lovington will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 10:00 am at New Beginnings Church with David Villar officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Shannie was born on March 24, 1977 in Hobbs to Dennis Ray and Sharron Kaye (Montgomery) Long and passed away on March 16, 2026. Shannie graduated from Lovington High School; she also graduated from Eastern NM University getting a degree in Criminal Justice. She was a hard worker until she became disabled in 2023. Shannie had many odd jobs from mowing yards, babysitting, Allsup's, and was a Victims Coordinator with the 5th Judicial District Court.

She was preceded in death by her father: Dennis Long; her grandparents: Norma Montgomery, George Montfomery, Lina Long and Darrin Long; one uncle: Ernie Long; Niece: Britta Mann; and her God Parents: Robert and Eileen Lambright.

She is survived by her mother: Cheri Long; sons: Jonathon Long, Joshua Long, and Brannon Gonzales all of Lovington; one sister: Jennifer and husband Michael Mann of Lovington; one brother: Casey Long of Lovington; nieces: Dystinee Hernandez and her children Aiden and Anaya of Lovington; Kierra Hernandez and her son Cisco of Lovington, Bailey Kendrix of Roswell; and Dakota Long of Roswell; one nephew: Christopher and wife Jordan Mann and their children Taylor, Skylar, and Ariel; great nieces: Brennan Mann, Grace Voigts; God siblings: Janice Bates and husband Paul, Bobby Lambright and wife Cherity, and Shelly Lambright and husband Kevin.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home.
