Randall Alan Boyd Obituary
Randall (Randy) Alan Boyd, 76, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at home with family by his side. He was born February 9,1950 in Big Spring, Texas to Robert (Bob) William Boyd Jr. and Ramona (Mona) June Roland Boyd. The family moved to Lovington shortly after his birth in 1950 and he graduated from Lovington High School in 1968.
Randy served in the Army for 2 years. He attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque for a year upon discharge from the service. He then moved to Ruidoso, where he began his career as a general contractor and skilled carpenter. His carpentry work often reflected his creative and artistic side and many of those projects will be enjoyed for many years to come. He later returned to Lovington and lived and worked on the Boyd family farm. Randy had an amazing sense of humor, sharp wit and intelligence, often doing small acts of kindness for others. He was well liked by those who got to know him and was a lot of fun. He was an avid reader throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Mona Boyd. Randy is survived by his daughter: Rebecca Ann Boyd of Ruidoso, and his Sister: Kathleen Boyd Whalen of Phoenix, cousins and their families. The family would like to thank the VA health team in Hobbs for the kindness, support and care they provided him these last few years. No public services are planned at Randy's request.
The family will honor his life privately. Rest in peace Randy.
