Memorial services for Matthew Donovan Powell, 45, of Lovington will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church with Donald Ragland officiating. Matthew was born on March 19, 1981 in Hobbs to Ocie Lynn and Patti Suann (Price) Powell and passed away on April 2, 2026. Matthew married Jessica Niccole Glover on June 4, 2005 they were married 20 years. He like going off roading, shooting and hunting. Matthew liked cooking and going to the lake with his friends. He loved being with his family especially playing video games. Matthew loved his dogs Arabella, Boba Fett, and Merida.

He is survived his wife: Jessica Powell; his three sons: Connor Powell, Maddox Powell and Collin Powell; his parents: Ocie and Patti Powell; his paternal grandmother: Colleen Powell; one sister: Misti Walters and husband Jimmy; his sister-in-law: Delynda Navarrette and husband Erik and Lexi Glover; his in-laws: Henry and Debbie Hughes and his father-in-law: Ronald Glover and wife Donna; one uncle: Greg Powell; his nieces: Maddy Zimmermann and husband Connor, and Danikka Navarrette; nephews: Kaden and his wife Casey Walters Michale Navarrette, and Matthew Davis; his best friends: Matthew Vela, Scott Lunsford, Daniel Sepeda, Miguel Astorga, and Billy Garcia.
