Funeral services for Juan Jesus Fernandez Romero, 77, of Hobbs will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Emanuel Baptist Church with Gerardo Franco officiating. Juan was born on April 23, 1948 in Rubio, Chihuahua, Mexico to Juan Fernandez Cuesta and Maria Antonia Romero and passed away on April 3, 2026. Juan liked being outside with his animals which were horses, and chickens. He liked joking around and was always smiling.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Juan and Maria; his wife: Paula Fernandez; one son: Samuel Fernandez; one brother: Efrain Fernandez; and six sisters: Licha, Maria, Lupe, Trini, Lucila and Irma.

He is survived by four sons: Manolo Fernandez, David Fernandez, Juan Fernandez and Tony Gonzalez; two daughters: Brenda Leyva and Sylvia Hernandez; four sisters: Virginia, Arminda, Socorro, and Antonia; numerous grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 10:00 am until Thursday, April 9, 2026 after the service. Visitation will be held at Emanuel Baptist Church 417 W. Ave C.
