Elva Maria Acosta Obituary
Elva Maria Acosta, 88, passed peacefully away on May 20, 2026. She was born in Imperial, Texas and lived a life centered on Faith, family, kindness and strength.
Elva began each morning with two of her favorite things: reading her Bible and drinking a cup of coffee. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially yardwork and planting flowers. She was talented at sewing, was a caregiver and was known for always helping others. Though little in stature, she was incredibly strong.
Elva was kind hearted, dependable, and would do anything for her family. Her love, care, and strength touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years: Severiano Acosta; her children: Elena and Javier Morales, Danny and Grace Acosta, Delma Cabello, Elsa and Mark Sullivan and Abel and Gina Acosta.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Luis Morales, Abran Morales, Alex Morales, Claire Cabello, Samuel Acosta, Colt Sullivan, Alexiah Acosta, Analise Acosta and great grandson: Nikolaz Morales.
Elva is also survived by her brothers: Isaac Esparza, Santos Esparza Jr., Abelardo Esparza; and her sisters: Eva Levario and Ernestina Esparza.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Santos and Natividad Esparza; her sisters: Elvira Gamboa and Estella Juarez; her brothers: Alberto Esparza and Israel Esparza.
Elva Acosta will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her strength, her generous heart, and the deep love she had for her family. Her memory will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery.
