Obituary of Oscar G. Gonzales

Oscar G. Gonzales Sr. September 23, 1933 - May 13, 2016 Funeral services for Oscar G. Gonzales 82, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Redentor Molina officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Gonzales was born on September 23, 1933 to Alejandro and Antonia G. Gonzales in La Feria, TX and passed away at his residence on May 13, 2016. Oscar liked to work and was a hard worker he enjoyed music, dancing, and watching Novelas. He liked visiting his family in Texas and loved his family very much. He is preceded in death by his parents Alejandro and Antonia Gonzales; One daughter: Janie Contreras; three brothers: Ismael, Mario, and Isabel Gonzales; two sisters: Evangelina Nickles, and Gloria Coronado. He is survived by his wife Altagracia Gonzales of Lovington, NM; two sons; Oscar Gonzales Jr. of Lovington, NM, and Isfrain Gonzales of Lubbock, TX; one daughter; Linda and husband Manuel Gallegos of Hobbs, NM.; one sister Maria and husband Refugio Mejorado; four brothers: Roy and wife Modesta Gonzales of Palmer, TX, Rene and wife Francis Gonzales of Cleveland, TX, David Gonzalez of Mesquite, TX, and Charles Gonzales of Waxahachie, TX; eleven grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm with rosary at 6:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel. Condolences may be sent to www.kirbysmithrogers.com.
