In 1989 when I started back to college with a three year old child, I was working at Lovington Junior high school as the Librarian under Mrs. Buford. It was because of her that I was able to work and go back to college and graduate with my bachelors and later my Masters and continue to work in the school system. She taught me how to not only work In the library but to use and obtain knowledge. She was was one of the most intelligent, well-read woman that I have ever known; and she taught me respect knowledge more than anything. She made a difference in my life. She was strong and gentle and mostly, kind and giving. She had a special way of making you feel special. I am so glad that I had the privilege of knowing her. It was a gift.

Sending you all my thoughts and prayers. Your mom was such a dear friend to our family. I truly loved the time we spent together. Dad and your dad were both such good storytellers. Their two lovely wives would love listening to their tales. These four had so much in common....work, family, church, their faith, and a wonderful friendship that lasted long after they were separated by many miles. Your mom always treated us Miller kids just like we were one of her own. I treasure many memories that were made with the Burford's. May God wrap you in his loving arms as you celebrate the life of your dear mom.
