Obituary of Marjorie Estelle Patman

Marjorie Estelle Patman March 08, 1926 - May 13, 2016 Funeral services for Marjorie Estelle Patman, 90, of Lovington will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 2:00 pm at First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Patman was born in Sunset, Texas on March 8, 1926 to Miles Adoph and Cordie Lee (Grimes) Greenwood and passed away at Good Samaritan Center on May 13, 2016. She attended high school at Ropesville, TX and also attended the School of Cosmetology and became a beauty operator. Marjorie was very popular with her clients and had certain clients that had a particular night or time for their hair to be done. She married Harley Ivan Patman in Lubbock, TX on October 4, 1945. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star # 35 and a member of First Christian Church of Lovington. Marjorie was a fun person with a wonderful sense of humor and liked to dance, go to Las Vegas, sew and she was a wonderful cook. She could whip up a full course meal in thirty minutes and baked the best pies in the county. She was a terrific “Mom” to her three children and was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; one brother: T. J. Greenwood and one sister: Sally Pearson. Surviving her is one son: Harley Dan and wife LeeAnn Patman of Lovington and two daughters: Eloise and husband Richard Walker of Scottsdale, AZ. and Pat and husband Robert Capps of Lovington; three grandchildren: William Clay Patman, Rebecca Gael and husband Brad Morrow and Daniel Capps and one great-grandchild: Hanna Mae Boss. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 11:00 am- 8:00 pm with the family in residence from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
