Obituary of Herminia Rodriguez

Herminia Rodriguez July 21, 1939 - March 10, 2018 Funeral services for Herminia Rodriguez, 78, of Tatum, NM will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Father Alonzo Quinonez officiating. Burial will follow at Tatum Cemetery. Rosary will be Wednesday at 6:00 pm at the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Herminia was born in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico on July 21, 1939 to Ramon and Maria (Vasquez) Rodriguez and passed away on March 10, 2018 in Artesia, NM. She grew up in Acuna, Coahuila and came to the United States when she was very young. She first went to Seattle to live then came to Lovington and then moved to Tatum where she still lived. She worked hard at whatever job she had and greatly respected work ethics. She attended a couple of different churches at Tatum and Denver City . Herminia enjoyed shopping, cooking and going places but was mostly all about her family and home. She was a strict mother, and was passionate about teaching respect. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death were her parents: one daughter: Maria Navarrette and two brothers: Silvano and Fidencio Rodriguez. Surviving her is her mate of forty plus years: Pedro Rodriguez; two sons: Ralph and wife Stella Rodriguez of Artesia, NM and Arturo and wife Crystal Rodriguez of Carlsbad, NM; three sisters: Margarita Ramirez of Del Rio, TX, Maricela and husband Manuel Sanchez of Brady, TX and Eva and husband Manuel Reyes of Lansing, MI; one brother: Jose Rodriguez of Lubbock, TX; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14th from 11:00 am till rosary time.
