Funeral services for Erby Kay Roberts, 89, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel with Pastor Kevin Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Erby was born on February 20, 1929 in Pollok, TX to Henry and Purdina (McKnight) Morrison and passed away on October 12, 2018 in Lubbock,TX. Erby came to Lovington in the early "50's" and in 1956 she married M. L. Roberts on October 19. She worked as a nurse for thirteen years and was employed by Good Samaritan Nursing Home for several years and was also was a Mary Kay Consultant. She enjoyed oil painting; sewing, crocheting, cooking, and Christian music. She loved her garden and her flowers and was an avid reader. She taught Sunday School as she served the Lord at First Assembly of God Church. She especially loved ministering with the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. Erby loved people and was loved back by people.
She was preceded in death by her husband: M.L. Roberts; her parents; Henry and Purdina Morrison; two sons: Dempsey Lee Jones and Gerry Allen Roberts; eight brothers and three sisters.
Surviving her are her two sons: Milton and wife Terry Roberts of El Paso, TX, and Larry Roberts of Lovington, NM; two daughters: Velma Roberts-Musin and husband Valeriy of North Miami Beach, Florida, and Cynthia Roberts-Morey and husband Stephen of Lakeland, Florida; four grandchildren: Monica Lester, Valencia Roberts, Milton Roberts II and Cierra Roberts-Redd and husband David; eight great-grandchildren: Desmond Lester, Wynter Ward, Destinee Roberts, Morgan Roberts, Macy Roberts, Dayah Redd, Tristan Redd and Tamya Radford.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16th from noon until seven pm at the funeral home.
