Obituary of Carmelo Olivares

Funeral services for Carmelo Olivares, 62, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 10:00 am at Ministerio Pentecostal Vida Nueva, 1517 South 2nd street with Pastor Oscar Carranza officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mr. Olivares was born on April 30, 1956 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Eustimio and Maria (Ramirez) Olivares and passed away at his home in Lovington on November 26, 2018. He married Dolores Hernandez in Lovington on September of 2012. Mr. Olivares enjoyed gardening, whether vegetables or flowers and loved being in the outdoors. He was a loving husband and father and was a generous man, very observant and calm. He was a strong, praying Christian and served his church faithfully. His passion was his wife and children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: one brother: David Olivares; three sisters: Maria Olivares, Refugia Olivares and Rachel Olivares. Surviving him is his wife Dolores of the home; two sons: Jesus Olivares of San Francisco, CA and Steven Carrasco of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers: Jesus and Jose Olivares and two sisters: Maggie Martin and Celia Arreola; five stepsons: Martin, Hiliario, Ishmael and Robert Jimenez and Jose Hernandez; three stepdaughters: Sonia Sanchez, Sally Carrasco, Juanita Jimenez; thirty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 1:00 -6:00 pm at the funeral home.
