Graveside services for Frances "Fran" Arlene Burns, 83, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Cemetery with Bro. Matt Bridges officiating. Frances was born on March 4, 1936 in Medaryville, Indiana to Harold and Margaret (Schroeder) Seggerman and passed away on April 24, 2019 in Lovington, NM. Fran was raised in and graduated from school in Pueblo, Colorado but came to Lovington in 1976 where she married Kenneth Burns in June of that year. She was employed for some time at Hobbs Boot Shop where she served as manager. She enjoyed her sorority sisters, teasing and joking with the kids and grandkids and was very good at negotiating their secrets out of them. She was a good cook and she loved dancing. Fran was the type of woman that never met a stranger and she genuinely cared about people because she wanted to make sure their needs were being met. She had a deep concern for her fellow men and women and her family. She liked traveling with Kenneth and they had visited Australia, New Zealand and many places all over the United States. She was a little "sassy" but in a gentle way and she loved her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Debra McCormick.
Surviving her is one son: Kenneth and wife Terri Kearney of Hobbs, NM;
eight grandchildren: Troy and wife Morgan McCormick of Lovington, Travis and wife Talya McCormick of Lovington, Clay and wife Audrey Kearney of Hobbs, Jay and wife Jenna Kearney of Colorado, Stacy and Brandon Nelson of Austin, TX and Kenyon and wife Kaylee Burns of Lovington; also nine great-grandchildren: Brinley, Hudson, Paxton, Eleonora, Levi, Brooklyn, Sawyer, Shooter and one on the way.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 9:00 am until noon.
