Obituary of Betty Jane Roberts

Funeral services for Betty Jane Roberts, 85, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Third & Central Church of Christ with Bob Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Betty was born of February 28, 1934 in Greggton, TX to Frank and Nina Faye (Grammer) Perry and passed away on March 29, 2019 in Lovington, NM. Betty married Alfred Roberts on September 18, 1968 in Wickett, TX. Betty liked to cross stich and she made doll houses and furniture. She enjoyed doing ceramics, and making plant hangers. She especially liked her soap operas, her favorites were the Young and the Restless and Bold in the Beautiful. She was preceded in death by her Parents; one daughter: Cynthia Jane Henson; one son: David Dell Rushing; two grandchildren: Wade Bennett, and Danny Henson. Surviving her is her husband Alfred Roberts of the home; two sons: Leslie Sloan and wife Virginia of Girard, TX, and Delton Rushing of Lamesa, TX; one daughter: Diana Bennett of Lovington, NM; seven grandchildren: Willie and wife Michelle Henson, Vallarie and husband David Jones, Elaine Donet and husband Marty, Amy Garcia and husband Jose, Buddy Youngblood and wife Christy,and LaCosta McDougle and husband Jake; fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
