Obituary of Delfina Cruz

Funeral services for Delfina "Penny" Cruz, 60, of Lovington will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 10:00 am at Kirby Smith Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor David Villar, officiating. Interment will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 am-6:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby Smith Rogers Funeral Home. Delfina was born on December 8, 1958 in Artesia, NM to Louis and Elvira Medina. She married Edmund Cruz on July 1, 2002 in Lovington, NM and they celebrated 17 years of wonderful marriage. Delfina loved her husband and taking care of her family. She enjoyed going to church; playing on her ipad and coloring. Delfina was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; nephew, Raymond Ortega, Jr. and great niece, BreeAnna "Pooh" Bodge. Survivors include her husband, Edmund Cruz; son, Joe Rodriguez (Lupe); daughters, Priscilla Galinda (Robert), Sarah Galinda (Alonza) and M.R.; brother, Thomas Medina; sisters, Lenafaye Medina, Margie Sandlin and Debbie Nieto; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and her loving dog, Shilo. The family would like to thank Kidney Care Center in Hobbs for their special care of Delfina.
