Obituary of Rachel Marie Castillo

Memorial services for Rachel Marie Castillo, 66, of Midland, TX and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:00 am at Jackson Ave Baptist Church with Bro. Dave Rowser officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Rachel was born in Sanderson, Texas on March 6, 1953 to Joe Eli and Mary (Rodriguez) Trujillo and passed away on September 10, 2019 in Midland, TX. She graduated from Lovington High School and participated in athletics during those years. She worked for First Assembly of God Church for awhile and then moved to St. Louis where she was employed with Joyce Meyer Ministries for four years. She returned to Lovington and was the Administrative Assistant at Jackson Ave Baptist Church, where she served with a smile and a joyful heart. Rachel had a beautiful and caring soul and loved sharing about the Lord to everyone when she had the opportunity. She loved people and enjoyed doing crafts and coloring. Her greatest passion was loving her daughter, grandchildren and great- grandson and the rest of her family. Preceding her in death was her Mother, Mary Trujillo and one brother, Richard Trujillo. Surviving her is her father: Joe Trujillo of Lovington, NM; one daughter: Dawn Calvillo of Midland, TX; one sister: Cathy Gutierrez of Lovington, NM; one sister-in-law: Judy Trujillo of Lovington, NM; two grandchildren: Alina and husband Ashton Kirby of Hobbs, NM and Joseph Gonzales of St. Louis, Mo; one great-grandchild: Gavin Kirby; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
