Obituary of Gracie Diane Coronado

Funeral services for Gracie Coronado, 56, of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 10:00 am at First Christian Church with Aaron Zapata officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Gracie was born on December 20, 1962 in Lovington to Pete Sr. and Mary Olga (Garza) Coronado and passed away on September 10, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. Gracie was raised in Lovington and attended school here. She later married Joel Leal and they lived in Eastland, Ranger and Breckenridge, TX before returning to Lovington. She was a cashier at Safeway store and later worked for Del and Associates as a caregiver and later became her mother's caregiver. She was a great cook, loved baking especially and cleaning house and was very outspoken. She had a huge capacity for giving to others and a large gift of laughter. Decorating was her thing, especially for the holidays, and she liked all kinds of music. She was preceded in death by her parents: Pete Sr. and Mary Olga Garza; one daughter: Krystal Leal; one sister: Yolanda Coronado; five brothers: Pete Jr Coronado the 2nd, Pete Jr. Coronado the 3rd, Rudy Coronado, Ronnie Coronado, and Joe Avila. Surviving her are her two sons: Chris Coronado and Lupe of Lovington, NM, and Josh and wife Amy Leal of Hobbs, NM; one daughter: Kristen and Jeremy Cervantes of Hobbs, NM; two sisters: Mary Zapata and husband Jesse of Lovington, NM and Maggie and husband Willie Hatcher of Tatum, NM; one brother: Nino Coronado of Roscoe, TX; six grandchildren: Crystal Lynn, Aniyah Cervantes, Zoe Cervantes, Emily Pruitt, Gavin Leal and Olivia Leal. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 from noon until 7:00 pm at the funeral home
