Obituary of Thomas Wesley Moody

Memorial services for Thomas Wesley Moody, 57, of Hobbs, New Mexico will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Jefferson Street Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mr. Moody was born in Hobbs, NM on September 5, 1962 to John L. Jr. and Barbara Louise (Pierce) Moody and passed away on September 21, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. He grew up in Hobbs in earlier years and had lived in Ft. Worth for the past twenty five years before returning to Hobbs. He was a down-hole tool operator for Baker Hughes and JBI Electric. He also had served in the US Navy. Thomas liked to barbecue and be with his family. He enjoyed music very much and he had a huge thing for watches, from tinkering with them to wearing them and he quite a collection of them. He liked watching knife shows and liked the high quality brands like Benchmade and Kershaw and Old Timers. He was considered to be a "TV junkie", and loved movies, shows, live events or anything. He would share about his life experiences with his son, Riley and would talk for hours about them. Preceding him in death was his father: John L. Moody Jr. Surviving him is his wife Shelley of the home; his mother: Barbara Moody; wo sons: Riley Moody of Seattle, WA and Zaaron Moody of Hobbs, NM; two daughters: Leisha Beard of Springer, TX and Addaliegh Moody of Hobbs; Step-mother: Maria Moody of Hobbs; two brothers: John L. Moody III of Hobbs and Estevan Baeza of Hobbs; two sisters: Sunny Denise Shear and Alice Cantu both of Hobbs and two grandchildren. Also two aunts: Linda Lee and Kathy Moody.
