Obituary of Peggy Jane Dale-Seay

Peggy Jane Dale-Seay September 24, 1925 - November 12, 2016 Funeral services for Peggy Dale Seay, 91, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Pastors, Harry Pittam, Matt Thackerson and Steve Lord officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Peggy was born in Talihina, Oklahoma to Lewis Jackson and Laura Jane (Callihan) Rose on September 24, 1925 and passed away in Lovington on November 12, 2016 at her home. Peggy married Wilford Thurman Dale on August 22, 1940 in Brownfield, TX and they came to Lovington in 1950 and farmed at Prairie View. Peggy married Mark Seay on September 25, 2010 in Lovington. She was a hard worker; raised three children; worked at many different jobs including Piggly Wiggly, Nowells Drug Store, Bells Grocery, Mhoons Jewelry, A & A Feed Store and in the County Clerks office taking care of the marriage license. She was a soft-spoken lady, energetic and fun and talented. She was a member of First Baptist Church for untold years. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and VBS and children’s church, as she loved children. She was also a member of the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. Peggy was a wonderful cook and loved cooking, especially her chocolate pies and hot rolls and her family never ate enough. She was dearly loved and her sweet presence will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a baby Dale, one daughter: Vivian LaVonne Cochran; two sisters and two brothers and a son-in-law: Robert Moore. Surviving her is one son: Dwight and wife Sherri Dale of Roswell, NM and one daughter: Sharon and husband Charlie Barber of Lovington, NM; two stepchildren: Mary Edna Seay Horn of Carlsbad, NM and Mickey Seay of Hobbs, NM and special family friends: Klopp and Sally Klopher of Lovington; several nieces and nephews; also 23 Grandchildren, 35 Great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the funeral home with the family there from 5:00 – 7:00 .
