Obituary of Bobby Joe Fields Jr.

Funeral services for Bobby Joe Fields Jr. 55, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Bobby was born on March 5, 1964 in Kermit, TX to Bobby J. Fields Sr. and Carrie Sims Martin and passed away on November 24, 2019 in Lovington. Bobby attended first grade in Brooklyn, NY and then his family moved to Tahoka,TX and on to Grants, NM before moving to Lovington. When in Grants, Bobby was in ROTC and also was a cook for KFC. In Lovington, he was employed at the cotton warehouse and Chester's Bar-B-Q. He was quite the comedian and entertained others at Froggy Bottom with his wit and thoroughly liked telling jokes. He loved music and TV and enjoyed writing songs, one in particular titled "Bubble Gum Lover". Bobby liked cooking and even though he was pretty much a "loner", he liked sharing his talent with others, but his greatest love was his "Mama!" Preceding him in death was his father: Bobby Fields Sr; grandparents: Sylvester and Geneva Sims and Irvin and Floye Fields and one nephew: Donald Ray Evans. Surviving him is his mother: Carrie Martin of Lovington, NM; two daughters: Temisha and Tabitha McClinton of Houston, TX; one brother: Osie Fields of Chaparral, NM; two sisters: Yvetta Bell of Hobbs, NM and Pamela White of Lovington; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
