Obituary of Ernesto C. Insilan

Funeral services for Ernesto C. Insilan, 49, of Lovington, NM will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2019 at 3rd & Central Church of Christ at 2:00 pm with David Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Ernesto was born in Harbor City, California on February 2, 1970 to Edwin S. Insilan and Eugenia Wickham Calderon and passed away on December 30, 2019. He married Rosie Alba on March 17, 1994 in Santa Maria, California and they have shared twenty five years of life and love together. In 2002, they moved to Lovington, NM to raise their three children and Ernesto was employed in the oilfield in various areas. His final employer was Catalyst Oilfield Services. He liked spending as much time as possible with his family and friends and especially loved time with his children, even if it was just for one day. He was a very humble man who enjoyed having fun and finding the lighter side of everything. He liked having something to say just to make people laugh. He also liked fishing and crabbing. Along with his family, he was an active member of 3rd & Central Church of Christ. Preceding him in death was an uncle, Franklin Wickham Calderon. Surviving him is his wife, Rosie, of the home, two sons: River and Cameron Insilan both of Lubbock, TX; one daughter: Taylor Insilan also of Lubbock; his parents: Edwin S. Insilan of Rosemond, CA and Eugenia Wickham Calderon of Camarillo, CA; one brother: Enrique and wife Kristi Insilan of Jamestown, CA and two sisters: Edwina and husband Frank Camarillo and Elvira and husband Michael Elisan both of Camarillo, CA; two uncles: Calvin and wife Cathy Calderon of Lakewood, CA and Wilbur Calderon of the Philippines; Cousins: Marian Calderon and Frankie Calderon of Lovington, NM and several nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2019 from 3:00 pm- 8:00pm at the funeral home.
