Obituary of Margaret Daniel

Margaret "Evelyn" Daniel September 07, 1922 - May 08, 2015 Graveside funeral services for Margaret “Evelyn” Daniel, 92, of Lovington, NM, will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with David Stewart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Mrs. Daniel was born on September 7, 1922 in Lovington, NM to William Arch and Margaret Mae ( Robinson) York and passed away on May 8, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Hospice in Carlsbad, NM. Evelyn had previously been a resident at Lovington Good Sam Center. She grew up in Lovington, attended school here and graduated from Lovington High School. She married Edward Earl Daniel in Las Cruces, NM on February 22, 1943. She was employed by Lea County State Bank and Mt. Bell Telephone which later became Verizon and then retired from the phone company after many years of service. In early years she enjoyed water skiing and fishing and in later years, dancing became a great joy to her. She had also lived in Pottsboro, Texas for many years close to Lake Texoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband; two brothers: Barnard Lark McMahan and William Joe York and one sister: Emma Mae Filllman. She is survived by one brother: Fred and wife Leora York of Artesia, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
