Memorial services for Rodney E. May, 73, of Hobbs, NM will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 10:00 am at Church of Hobbs, 1600 East Bender with John Ayers, pastor, officiating. Rodney was born on July 28, 1946 in Roswell, NM to Raymond D. and MarJean (Eller) May and passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He joined the Army right out of high school and was a Vietnam veteran. The next fifty years was spent in the funeral business. He owned and operated May Funeral Home in Hobbs for several years and also worked at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home for several years more recently. Rodney was not only a funeral director/embalmer and a veteran, he was a Christian that served the Lord and shared his beliefs. He married Barbara, his love, in Roswell, NM on May 26, 1995 and they have shared twenty five years together.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a nephew Mourad Haddad.
Surviving him is his wife Barbara of the home, three sons: Leonard, Michael and wife Kristen and Matt and five grandchildren; also two sisters: Dee Ann and Betsy.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in memory of Rodney be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 1481, Hobbs, NM 88240.
