Obituary of Mary Jean Click

Memorial services for Mary Jean Click, 82, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Villar officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Mary was born on July 11, 1937 in Austin, TX to Larkin Enoch and Mary Estelle (Teague) Walls and passed away in Lovington on February 21, 2020. Mary came to Hobbs with her family when she was in the eighth grade and then they came to Lovington where she graduated from LHS. She married Kelly Click Jr. on December 27, 1956 in Lovington and they shared thirty one years together. Mary was a plain spoken, strong willed lady who knew her own mind. She was always a caretaker and it was hard for her to let go and let others help take care of her. If they insisted she would, as the family said, "Huff". She was a strict mom but always supported the kid's activities and was a staunch supporter of her grandkids and their events. The huge pecan tree in her yard shared many pecans for her family and friends through the years and she would watch the neighbor's homes when they were gone to make sure all was alright. Collecting dolls, angels and crosses and doing crafts was a favorite pastime for her also. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Kelly; one brother: L. E. Walls; two sisters: Betty June Willis and Cleo Russell and one grandson: Richard Price. Surviving her is one son: Darren and wife Lisa Click of Lovington; one daughter: Marla and husband Ron Price of Lovington, one sister: Fayerene Halford of East Texas and one grandson: Roy and Tara Perrin of Lovington and also two grandchildren: David Perrin and Canyon Collins.
