Obituary of Marjorie Jane Embry

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Graveside services for Marjorie Jane Embry, 88, of Carlsbad, NM and formerly of Lovington, NM will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Lovington Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain, Steve Lord officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home of Lovington. Ms. Embry was born in Toyah, Texas on April 29, 1931 to Ernest Eugene and Tessie (Fisk) McAnally and passed away on March 27, 2020 in Carlsbad, NM. She grew up in Pecos, TX and graduated from Pecos High School. On May 19, 1951 she married Kendall Embry in Pecos and they raised two sons. The family lived on Keani Peninsula, Alaska for many years before returning to Lovington to make their retirement home here. Marjorie was employed for many years with Marie's Flower Shop working on holidays and as needed. She was a fun loving person who laughed a lot, enjoyed crocheting and cooking and made the best chocolate and cocoanut cream pies. She also made pies for her church to auction off. She was a great people person; an avid prayer warrior as she prayed without ceasing and was a "go-getter", tough lady that was a ball of energy. Marjorie was a loving wife, mom and grandmother and her nieces also thought she hung the moon. She was an active member of the Nazarene Church and loved her church and its people. She also loved the Dallas "Cowboys" much to her son's chagrin. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one son: Ernest Embry; three brothers: Edwin, Delton and Emmett McAnally and one sister: Bonnie L. Scott. Surviving her is her son: Michael Embry of Lovington; four grandchildren: Michael, Kendall and wife Brittany; David and Yadira; five great-grandchildren: Maddie, Devon, Kaizür, Kaidence, Karlen and numerous nieces and nephews and especially Darla Rutan, Brenda Kitchens and Christy Sadler, who were so helpful with their Aunt Marjorie and her arrangements. Visitation will be on Tuesday at 11:00 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
