Obituary of Letha Amelia Ritchey

Graveside services for Letha Amelia Ritchey, 94, of Lovington, NM will be held on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Lovington Cemetery at 11:00 am with David Stewart officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Ms. Ritchey was born in Knox City, Texas on September 26, 1925 to George Klondike and Winnie Rowena (Weedle) Lynch and passed away on April 23, 2020 at her residence. Letha lived a very long and happy life. She worked for many years in Albuquerque real estate and then found she had a passion for the health food industry. So she worked in a health food store for several years before retiring and moving to Lovington to provide bookkeeping services for her son's auto parts store. She was an active member of 3rd & Central Church of Christ and she loved cooking for potlucks and events at the church. She was also an active member of the local weight watchers group. Letha was a #1 fan at all her sons and grandsons sporting events, especially football!! In her quiet time, she enjoyed crocheting and cooking and she always extended a helping hand to anyone who needed support. She has left behind a legacy of a Godly love, compassion, humility, kindness and courage. A legacy we all should strive for here on earth. She will be greatly missed….. Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother: Lunsford Madison Lynch; one granddaughter: Sabrah Lynn Ritchey Dixon and one great-grandson: Tyler Don Dixon. Surviving her are two sons: Don Ritchey of Lovington, NM and Valdon Roy (Vicki) Ritchey of Sparks, NV; one brother: George Hamil (Robin) Lynch of Poteau, OK; three grandchildren: Donna Ritchey Moore and husband Bobby of Lovington, Kim Ritchey Dallas and husband Rob of Seattle, WA, and Will and wife Erin Ritchey of Sparks, NV. Also, five great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity or church in Letha's memory. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Please remember because of Covid-19 only five at one time may enter to visit and be courteous to wait in your cars or on the parking lot for your turn. The family will be in residence from 4:00-5:00 pm to greet friends. At the graveside service we just ask that you spread apart as much as you can but you are invited to attend.
