Malcolm Dean December 07, 1928 - January 26, 2009 Malcolm Beal Dean, age 80, longtime resident of Irving, and formerly of Lovington, New Mexico, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009. He was born December 7, 1928 in Lovington, NM. Malcolm served in the Navy in WWII as well as the Korean War. He was the owner of Dean’s Automotive on Shady Grove in Irving. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Penelope Beal and father, Orren Graydon Dean, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife Betty Dean; daughters Kathy Strawn and Shauna Laxson; son Michael Dean; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Dean officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 PM, January 29, 2009 at Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, NM. with local arrangements by Kirby-Smith- Rogers Funeral Home.
