She came to New Mexico at the age of seven and attended school in Lovington, where she met her love of her life, Eddie Elliott. He was her high school sweetheart and they were married on December 5, 1955 in Portales, NM. Gloria grew up with a love of music and being influenced by her mom who had a love of music also. She was a member of the Oil Wives Club and was the book keeper plus, for the family business. One of her enjoyable fun times was playing cards with her best friends, Jan Bunch, Nelda Bevers, Joyce Clemmons, Bernia Dean Kemper and Kay Shuman and she also taught her grandson, Tyler how to play cards.
