Obituary of April Rene Rogers

Memorial services for April René Rogers, 51, of Levelland, TX and formerly of Lovington, NM are scheduled for Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church with Harry Pittam and Matt Thackerson officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. April was born on August 16, 1968 in Lovington, NM to Ronnie and Patricia Lou Rogers and passed away on June 1, 2020 at Lynwood Nursing Home in Levelland, TX. She attended Lovington First Baptist Church from a very young age and attended Lovington Public Schools, graduating in 1986, where she enjoyed playing many sports, such as volleyball, basketball, track, softball and golf, where she held many school records. One of her favorite things to do was journal, and her love for Christ was beautifully written on so many of her journal pages. The love she had for her family was evident and her greatest blessing was her son, Taylor. April was full of life and always had a smile on her face while making people laugh. Her beautiful eyes, big smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death was her mother: Patricia Lou Rogers and her paternal grandparents, Hank and Ernestine Rogers and maternal grandparents, Bob Barker and Ethel Lou Wilkins. Survivors include her father: Ronnie Rogers and wife Carolyn of Levelland, TX; her son: Taylor and wife Baylee Rogers of Lovington and one new granddaughter, Brynlee Lou Rogers of Lovington; one brother: Doug and wife Susan Rogers of Fort Worth, TX; two sisters: Kathy and husband Leroy Boss of Lovington and Angel and husband Mike White of Lovington; three step-sisters: Kim Gafford of Lubbock, TX, Amee and husband Scott Dodson of Levelland, TX and Leann and husband Anthony Estrada of Lubbock, TX; oldest niece: Jonsie and family, Madison, Jacob and Ben from San Antonio; nieces: Meagan and husband Dustin Wilson and children, Hazel and Anson of Ft. Worth, TX; Katey and husband Bobby Whiteside and children, Palmer and Hogan of Midland; Kristina and husband Ryan Williams and daughter, Sawyer of Midland; also nephews: Matthew and wife Christa Boss and children, Annie and Brock of South Carolina, and Sterling White of Lovington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart's Desire Recovery Outreach, PO Box 121, Lovington, NM 88260 in April's memory.
