Obituary of Lena Mae O'Neal

Funeral services for Lena Mae Hutchings O'Neal, 70, of Lovington, NM will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at 3rd & Central Church of Christ with Elder Dylan Barry officiating. Burial will follow at Lovington Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Ms. Lena was born in Ft. Worth, TX on January 18, 1950 to Felix and Blannie Florence (Nash) Hutchings and passed away in Lovington on September 19, 2020. Lena grew up in Farmington and came to Lovington when she was a teenager. She loved to dance and was a happy, kind person who enjoyed laughing and joking around with others. She was a missionary at Macadonia Holiness Temple Church and loved the Lord. Gospel music was her favorite and she also liked praise and worship. She was very family oriented and liked being with her family and grandchildren. Cooking was very much appreciated by her family as she was a great cook and would fix their favorite foods, which was very good soul food. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death were her parents: one son: Shawn O'Neal; one granddaughter: Diamond Mackey and two grandsons: twins, Jermany and Alykyh. Surviving her is one son: James and wife Jeannie Hutchings of Austin, TX; two daughters: Darla Marshall of Lovington and Sherrie and husband Terrance Heckard of Hobbs, NM and one Godson: Jeremie Vaughn. Also, fifteen grandchildren and twenty six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 3:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
