Obituary of Johniece McDaniel

Memorial services for Johniece McDaniel, 87, of Hobbs, NM will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church with pastor Jimmy Charles Crawford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Ms. McDaniel was born in Stratford, OK on January 26, 1933 to John William and Flora Rogers) Hannan and passed away at her home in Hobbs on November 13, 2020. She grew up in Wynnewood, Ok but also lived in Bakersfield, CA for a while then returned to OK. She married Lemuel Grant McDaniel in Gainsville, TX on August 31, 1948 and they came to Hobbs when the oldest son was two weeks old. Johniece didn't like the wind and dirt when drying the baby diapers in the New Mexico weather. She raised her family here and was very active in church. She enjoyed going fishing with her husband and also liked sewing and doing handwork. She sewed for her children when they were young. She was a talented lady and was very loved and will be greatly missed by all. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sisters: Dolly Jean Roberts and Millie Jo Smith; and one brother: Fred Dewitt Munn. Surviving her are two sons: William McDaniel and wife Vicki of Hobbs, NM and Danny McDaniel and wife Rhonda of Stateline, NM; three daughters: Lela Jean and husband Jerry Williams of Roswell, nm; Rhetha Jo and husband Mike Mings of Hobbs, and Flo Lee of Habbs; also eighteen grandchildren; sixty one great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.
