Obituary of Leroy William Ragain

Graveside services for Leroy William Ragain, 78, of Jal, NM will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 10:00 am at Jal Cooper Cemetery in Jal, NM with Bro. Alan Speed officiating. Mr. Ragain was born on November 23, 1941 in Lorraine, TX to Leroy and Faye (white) Ragain and passed away in Albuquerque, NM on November 15, 2020. He served in the U S Army in the late 50's and early 60's and came to Jal in the 60's and was employed by the City of Jal for 33 years as a Public Works Director. He loved life and enjoyed going fishing and hunting and golfing. He and his family liked to travel and go camping. He was a member of Oddfellows and was an honorary member of the Jal Fire Department EMS. He was a people person who liked people and visiting with them. He was a member of Calvary Baptist church and loved his church. His passion was truly his family. He will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, Wanda Kemp Ragain and a brother Bobby Ragain. Surviving him are his two sons: Freddie and Bill Ragain of Jal, NM; one brother: Gary Morran of Amarillo, TX and four grandchildren: Nicole, Savannah, Parker and Camille and two great-grandchildren: Whitley and Madison and a host of friends. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home of Lovington, NM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made the Alzheimers Association.
