Paul Douglas Stevens of Tatum, NM passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Nor-Lea Hospital in Lovington. He was born on September 15, 1957 in Sweetwater, Texas to Bernerd Ross and Evelyn Yvonne (McDaniel) Stevens. Paul graduated from Tatum High School in 1976 and had returned to live in Tatum in 2009. He graduated from New Mexico Junior College in 1978 and from Eastern New Mexico University in 1980 and pursued his career as a professional photographer and art broker with his brother, Danny, and compadre, Curtis Fort. After working in the oilfield for several years, Paul navigated toward his career as a Certified Human Resources Professional in Roswell, Abilene, TX and at RMS Foods in Hobbs, NM. He was gifted in many ways, but most of all loved giving of himself, to family, friends, co-workers and strangers. Preceding him in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents; his father, B. R.; Mother, Evelyn; brother, Daniel Wayne Stevens; sister, Debra Lynn Stevens and Uncle, Dean McDaniel. Surviving him is his wife, Lynn, of thirty three years; step-son: John Wilson of Grand Rapids, MI; daughter: Elisabeth and husband Dan; granddaughter: Brielle Hinojoza of Lubbock, TX; Sister: Katie Brown and husband Phil Taylor of Breckenridge, TX; two brothers: David and wife LouAnn Stevens of Tye, TX and James and wife Dana Stevens of Tatum, NM; Aunt: Jackie McDaniel of Hobbs,; cousins: Doug McDaniel, Sheralee Longoria, both of Hobbs and Janet Evans of Houston, TX; nephew: Travis Brown and niece Tiffani from Santee, CA; and nephew: Michael Stevens and niece Megan of Katy, TX and numerous great-nephews, nieces and cousins from Illinois and many friends, who are considered family. A memorial celebration of Paul's life will be held when we all can be together to hug, cry and laugh in thankfulness for being able to have shared in his beautiful, if far too short, life.
