Graveside services for Maria Victoria Chavez, 87, of Lovington will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:00 am at Lovington Cemetery with Arthur Sanchez and Armando Ramos officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Ratliff Funeral Home. Maria was born on December 23, 1933 to Encarnacton and Maria Irene (Guerrero) Delgado and passed away on December 22, 2020 in Lovington. Maria married Jose Chavez in Mexico. She grew up in Mexico and moved to Lovington in the 1960's. She was a homemaker and caregiver for her husband. She liked to sew, crochet and enjoyed gardening. She was a great mother and took wonderful care of the family. She loved her grandkids and liked to spoil them. Maria had a great personality and was a good people person, she truly was the epitome of a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Jose Chavez; and one sister: Esperanza Guerrero. She was survived by one son: Joe Chavez and wife Linda of Broken Arrow, OK; Four Daughters: Andrea Pruett of San Antonio, TX, Janie and husband Andres Melendez of Mexico, Rachel and husband Vincent Villarreal of Weatherford, TX. and Sarah Chavez of Midland, TX; four sisters: Maria Juana Guerrero of Mexico, Natividad Guerrero of Mexico, Maria De Jesus Guerrero of San Antonio, TX, and Francisca Delgado of Mexico; sixteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
